Do you sit down for most of the day? Do you experience back pain?
Then your quad muscles are probably tight!
Your quad muscles are located on the front and sides of your thighs. When they get too tight, they can pull down on your pelvis and contribute to an unhealthy posture.
You can combat back pain caused by tight quads with the standing quad stretch, here’s how you do it:
Step 1: Stand on your right foot and grab your left foot behind you. If necessary, use a chair or table to keep your balance.
Step 2: Flex your glutes and gently pull your foot towards them while keeping your knee straight. You should feel a light stretch on the front of your thigh.
Step 3: Hold for 30 seconds and switch sides.
Perform this stretch up to three times a day to give your posture an opportunity to gradually improve over time!
