And you deserve it, you absolutely do, but sometimes it can be difficult to plan out a big vacation.

A staycation is when you choose to stay at home for a vacation. It might sound like a bit of an oxymoron, but the concept has growing in popularity. Instead of stressing out about booking flights and expensive hotel rooms, you can turn your own home into a resort. Here are 10 ideas to create the perfect staycation.

1) Turn your phone off or set it to silent

It’s a vacation! There’s no way to enjoy yourself and relax if you’re checking your phone every few minutes. Turn your cell phone off or set it to silent so you can forget about your troubles.

2) Have food delivered to your door

One of the great luxuries of living in a golden age of technology is that it is really easy to have food delivered to your door. Apps such as Seamless and Grubhub are incredibly user friendly can include thousands of local restaurants.

3) Get a massage chair

4) Make a playlist

As we learned from the neck and back massager, or that new really cool drone you’ve been thinking about.

10) Get creative with it

The sky is the limit. Utilize the resources that you already have at your house or place of dwelling. If you want to relive your childhood and build a fort out of blankets, go right ahead. If you want to build yourself an arcade out of cardboard, that sounds like a lot of fun. If you have a good tip for a staycation, we would love to hear it.
