The Importance of Physical Well-being

The Importance of Physical Well-being - truMedic

Those who do not suffer from chronic pain often do not understand just how great an impact it has on one’s life. Physical discomfort is only one element of chronic pain.  Many pain sufferers would agree that the pain itself is just the beginning. Pain affects us in a very physical way, restricting and reducing movement, seemingly punishing us for trying to be active. This can make it difficult for someone who has chronic pain to leave the home or participate in social events. Pain’s physiological effects can also impact us in a psychological way. Chronic pain can result in high levels of stress, which in turn can make us irritable or depressed.  And all of the above can make it difficult to maintain a support network, as we shut out family and friends who don’t understand what we’re experiencing. The loss of a support network creates a negative feedback loop: increased stress, increased isolation, deeper depression, and more anger and resentment.  This negative state of affairs can actually lead to the pain we experience becoming more intense.

So, it’s clear that we need to approach pain with the intention of managing it. Trying to “power through” anything but the most temporary and acute pain can have a seriously detrimental effect on one’s well-being. Sometimes, we are hesitant to take care of ourselves. Sometimes we hesitate to prioritize our own well-being. It feels selfish, somehow. But it truly isn’t.

Only by prioritizing our health and well-being can we be there to support others. If you’re cranky or anti-social because you’re not addressing your chronic pain, you’re not going to be a supportive mom or dad, son or daughter, or best friend. When you care for yourself, however, you’re able to be the best version of you, and that means you’ll be able to care for others as well.

Managing pain on the path to well-being

There are many ways to manage pain. All too often, however, the first response to pain is the desire to take a pill.  While medication management is indeed a valuable tool in relieving pain, it’s often ideal to find other, better coping mechanisms.  NSAIDs  (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) can cause stomach problems if taken constantly for chronic pain, and narcotic pain killers can be extremely addictive and may have other negative health effects.

At truMedic, we offer many products that are designed to help you effectively manage your pain and improve your well-being. Our products may even help some chronic pain sufferers avoid the need to resort to medication as a pain management strategy.

What is TENS Technology?

TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. Essentially, a TENS™ unit uses electronic pulses to stimulate the nerves to relieve pain. TENS™ units can be extremely helpful in treating the painful symptoms associated with a wide variety of conditions, including muscular pain, neuropathy, and joint impingement. However, until recently, TENS™ therapy was out of reach for many people.  Frequent visits to a chiropractor can be costly, and traditional TENS™ units were not portable—and they cost thousands of dollars.

truMedic has developed an affordable TENS therapy for its customers, however. We offer many different TENS™ units, all very portable and affordable. Our units are also designed to be easily understood and effectively used by laypersons, with clearly labeled buttons that explain precisely what they do.

Our state of the art truMedic 1000PRO Deluxe TENS™ Unit Electronic Pulse Massager is currently our most advanced unit. Approximately the size of a remote control, and weighing in at only 4.5 ounces, it’s truly impressive just how much punch this little unit can pack.

TENS therapy has helped so many chronic pain sufferers take back their lives from pain – with no known side effects. If pain is affecting your well-being, don’t you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to give it a try?

What is the InstaShiatsu™?

Shiatsu massage has long been thought to increase overall well-being. Ancient practitioners of this Japanese massage technique believed it to regulate the flow of energy through the body, reducing imbalances. Today, doctors believe that it improves circulation, reduces stress, and relaxes muscles as it calms the sympathetic nervous system. This results, for many, in very effective relief from pain.

But just as most people can’t afford regular visits to the chiropractor, most people can’t get a shiatsu massage every time they are in pain. That’s where our InstaShiatsu™ comes in. A simple and easy to use massage device, the InstaShiatsu™ combines heat and massage that you can enjoy any time you’d like.

Don’t just survive, thrive

Prioritize your well-being, not only for your own sake, but for the sake of those you care about. Understand that pain is something that can and should be managed, and that there are many different methods for doing so. Don’t be discouraged if one method isn’t successful—another one will be. The important thing is to be proactive in your own personal pain management regime.
